In January, 2006 the Ellensburg School District joined SchoolReport.org, a school notification system hosted by the Puget Sound ESD. This system allows subscribers to receive informational messages from the schools of their choice in the Ellensburg School District.
Emergency information, such as school delays or closures due to inclement weather is also available to subscribers of the system. As always, school closures will also be announced on the local radio stations. The SchoolReport system does not replace notification by the radio stations, it just adds direct e-mail and pager and cell phone alerts to subscribers. To receive updates on your cell phone or pager contact your cell phone provider to obtain your email address to receive text messages and then proceed with the subscribing process as instructed on the SchoolReport.org website. Text messaging may result in extra charges to your account depending on what your cell phone plan allows.
In addition to e-mail notifications subscribers may visit the SchoolReport.org website at any time to see current emergency and informational messages.
Although the emergency notification system is now active, general information messages from individual schools may not start for several weeks.
